A bit of sewing & a bit of knitting.

I've got a new toy. Its a Nexus 7 & I love it. This is the first time I'm trying to blog from the Nexus using photos taken with the Nexus. They were taken in bright sunshine too. Want to see if they're good enough quality.
I've been sewing. While away I got an idea for a bag. It was quite challenging trying to work it all out. The outer fabric is 'oil cloth' with iron on fleece on the inside to make it padded. The inner compartment has a zipped pocket & slip pockets for pens, phone & my knitters tool tin. This compartment zips up.
Between the inner compartment & the outer 'shell' there's room for my Nexus, keys, note book etc. I used handles bought from U-Handbag. Not used it yet but ready to use it tomorrow.
I've finished some knitting too. My Rowan Fine Art shawl came off the needles at lunchtime today. Still needs blocking.
While in Yorkshire my main knitting was a secret project but during a cinema trip I finished the foot on Simon's sock. Just need to double check length against the first sock & knit the toe.

But I also did a lot of knitting on my handspun shawl. Love the colours & its close to being finished.
So this has made me dream of what to cast on next. I cast on this weekend for a new shawl design using Bijou Basin Ranch Seraphim which is gorgeous.
I want to cast on something else too. I'm trying to choose between Zauberball, Malabrigo merino/silk, Sweet Georgia sock yarn - think it's cashmere/silk & Skein Queen Mink Lace. I need an infinity scarf I can wear when cycling. I'll let you know what I decide. I'm leaning towards the mink. It'd make a lovely lightweight luxurious lace infinity scarf.
