Belle from Let's Knit

The new issue of Let's Knit is out! Its a very Christmassy issue with lots of fun, small Christmas projects & a special Christmas knits booklet.

If you are not into Christmas novelty knitting then there are some fab, stylish sweaters too. My contribution is Belle, which works equally well with a pretty skirt or trousers or a pair of jeans.
Belle is an elegant sweater worked in one piece with set in sleeves. This is my new favourite sweater construction. The body is worked in the round & from the underarm the front and back are worked separately to the shoulders which are joined by working a three needle cast off. Stitches are picked up around the armhole and sleeve caps are shaped by working short rows. The sleeves are worked in the round from the top down which makes it easy to adjust the length. If you are new to this type of construction, give it a go! It really is very easy.

Belle has a wide lace panel on the front only & waist shaping. Perfect to wear for those Christmas parties, Christmas day & throughout the rest of the winter. The yarn is Sublime Baby Cashmere Merino Silk dk which is gorgeous to knit with. I really enjoyed knitting this sweater and wish I had time to knit one for me!
